I stayed at Tabino Hotel Lit Matsumoto, which opened in Matsumoto, Shinshu in July 2021.
It’s a new hotel with a great location, just a 4-minute walk from JR Matsumoto Station, and even comes with a large public bath!
What’s more, this hotel is based on the concept of giving guests a “little bit of happiness,”
so they offered some great services! In this article, I’ll review my impressions of actually staying at the hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located just a 4-minute walk from the Castle Exit of JR Matsumoto Station.
The location of the hotel is also very important for women traveling alone! It’s located in a corner of the city center, so it’s perfect for dining out and doing a little shopping.
I walked there from Matsumoto Station, and it seemed to be located a short walk from the rotary in front of the station. I actually walked there, and it wasn’t a path that I would feel uneasy walking on alone as a woman!
It’s convenient to have a hotel close to the station, as you can leave your luggage before check-in or after check-out, and there are good restaurants nearby. This hotel is new and close to the station, so it’s great!

Tabino Hotel aims to be a new genre of hotel that is casual, warm, and offers casual extended stays as a base for active travel to various parts of Japan.
The hotel rooms were lovely and clean!
Besides the bed, there was also space to relax, so I was able to spend my time there relaxing.
Having a sofa is convenient because you can take a short break, have a drink, or do some light work.
There are also desks with electrical outlets, so you can use it for business or workcation.
If you lose concentration, you can move to the sofa and continue working, or go to the large public bath to refresh yourself! Having a large public bath is a big plus◎
What’s more, this hotel even provides a mini kitchen!
You can also rent kitchen utensils at the front desk, so it’s a great option for those planning a long stay!
The bathroom was typical of a business hotel, but it was equipped with a large public bath, so I personally thought it was enough.
By the way, the large public bath is not very large, but it is a soothing space where you can enjoy the beauty of the birch trees.
It is an artificial hot spring that uses non-prescription bath additives from Shirahone Onsen, one of Nagano Prefecture’s most famous hot springs, so it was very relaxing!
A little happiness as a gift
In fact, one of the reasons I chose this hotel was because of the “Happy Foam” service! lol
You get a free glass of alcohol as a welcome drink! They also have beer on the menu, so it’s a great service for beer lovers♡
Non-alcoholic drinks are also available, so those who don’t like alcohol can rest assured.
You can take a break after checking in or have a drink after taking a bath in the large public bath! lol
In addition, guests can enjoy free ochazuke every night from 9:30pm to 11pm, and complimentary morning coffee from 5:30am.
